In 2023, the government had established that families who wanted to apply for the Mandatory Progresar Scholarship could do so if their child was over 15 years old, this being the minimum age. However, recently and with the September registrations enabled, it was discovered that the true minimum age was 16 yearsso minors will be excluded from this benefit.

After the confusion, the Ministry of Human Capital regulated Resolution 636, allowing students who are 15 years old to collect the Food Card. Therefore, even if they do not qualify for the Scholarship, they will be able to collect the extra that was included.
