The Social Security Institute (IPS) requests the survival certificate For all retirees and/or pensioners whose benefits were cancelled due to not receiving payment for 3 consecutive months, or due to a data mismatch in the Argentine Republic. This document reactivates the benefit.

This certificate can be issued by the National Registry of Persons of the Province of Buenos Aires, by a duly registered notary public (Clerk) or by the Justice of the Peace Court of the town where the beneficiary of the benefit resides. They cannot be issued by police stations.

When should the IPS retiree survival certificate be presented?
This certificate of survival must be presented to the IPS as long as the retiree or pensioner has seen his or her benefits interrupted. Either by not receiving it for 3 consecutive months, or by the cross-referencing of national data that automatically cancels it.
To reactivate the suspended benefit, the survival certificate must be submitted to the IPS authorities issued by the competent authorities previously mentioned.
How to certify proof of life for IPS retirees
In order to prove the proof of life for IPS retirees, the certificate must contain the place and date on which it was issued, it must be confirmed that the pension beneficiary is alive, and the details must include name, surname, ID and number of the benefit that is to be reactivated.
The signature and explanatory stamp of the person issuing it must also be included. This document must be presented in person at the IPS after making an appointment online on the official website.
