Glamour on the red carpet, Barbara Schöneberger in top form and moving moments at the ceremony: The German Television Awards were presented for the 25th time in Cologne. Presenter Schöneberger led the gala with wit and quick wit. Right at the start she joked about her outfit: “I can’t move around very much. I’m wearing a traffic light coalition outfit: it could explode at any moment.” Over the course of the evening she kept dropping a quip or two and also provided musical variety.
One of the most moving scenes at the awards ceremony was a message from Holocaust survivor Margot Friedländer. The production about her life won in the category “Best TV Film/Multi-Part”. The awarding of the honorary prize to acting legend Mario Adorf was also emotional. The 94-year-old was unable to attend for health reasons, but Iris Berben gave a touching laudation.
