In 2018, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan separated, after a years-long dispute. Now the two have been able to reach an agreement.
Due to a years-long court battle over the income from “Magic Mike,” Channing Tatum (44) and Jenna Dewan (43) have not been able to agree on a divorce since 2018 – until now. As reported, the couple’s divorce is now official.
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan sign agreement
According to the report, the two signed a binding agreement this week that finally settles the dispute. According to the report, both Tatum and Dewan are waiving mutual alimony payments. This apparently also allows the ex-couple to avoid a court case scheduled for December.
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan separated in 2018 after nine years of marriage, and the actress filed for divorce in October of the same year. The two met on the set of “Step Up” in 2006 and got engaged two years later. They married in 2009, and their daughter Everly (11) was born in 2013.
Dispute over “Magic Mike” revenue
The separation was followed by a years-long dispute over the intellectual property of the “Magic Mike” film series, in which Tatum played the lead role. The film was developed during Tatum and Dewan’s relationship and, according to Dewan’s lawyers, was co-financed with marital funds. On this basis, Jenna Dewan claimed profits that the film made. Tatum’s lawyers, however, argued that their client never concealed finances or denied Dewan “her share of the joint assets or income.”
In their private lives, both have long since left their marriage behind: in 2019, a judge declared the ex-partners “legally single”. Tatum has been in a relationship with Zoë Kravitz (35) since 2021 and is now engaged. Dewan is engaged to Steve Kazee (48), with whom she shares two other children – son Callum (4) and daughter Rhiannon, born in June.
