“The courage that Javier has had to face these things, that is, this is ending and these things will not be able to continue. The State needs a chainsaw, we call it ‘deep chainsaw’. Public employment has fallen more or less by 12 or 13% in the eight months, but now comes the ‘deep'”assured the official.
The former president of the Central Bank expanded on this idea and explained: “Deep chainsaw is… Javier has already reduced public spending by 30%and that is basically what implies or allows the State to reduce the backpack that it burdens the rest of society, because that was a public expense that someone had to pay in some way, whether with inflation, with taxes, with debt, whatever, right? “So, If a worker doesn’t like it and thinks they are better off the way they are now, they can stay where they are and the same with a company. So, that seems to me to force the parties involved in the collective agreement to really focus and think about something that is better for both parties. I think we are going to have a great diversity of alternatives and options because the sectors are very different, and it is going to be a very rich and interesting debate to watch,” said the minister.
