Angelina Jolie’s sons Pax and Maddox were also employed as assistant directors on the set of the film “Maria”, in which the 49-year-old portrays opera star Maria Callas (1923-1977). Pablo Larraín (48) directed the biopic. : “They’ve done it a few times and I think it’s good for them. Pax likes to do stills and gets called in for it. Pablo was wonderful and realized he was good at it.”
The actress was also grateful for her sons’ emotional support on set, as the role obviously demanded a lot from her. “When I was having really hard times, they would come over and just give me a hug or give me a cup of tea.”
In the USA, “Maria” will be shown in selected cinemas on November 27th and on the streaming service Netflix from December 11th. German audiences will have to wait longer – the film will be released in cinemas here in February.
