As has been customary every Monday for weeks, legislators from the PRO, the Integration and Development Movement (MID) and La Libertad Avanza visited the Hall of Shields of the Secretary of the Interior in a new meeting with the Executive.
The vice head of the Interior participated in the working group with the deputies for the GovernmentLisandro Catalántogether with the Minister of Deregulation and Transformation of the State, Frederick Sturzenegger.
Also part of the meeting were the deputy chief of the Executive Cabinet, Joseph Rolandi, and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Martin Menem.
As for the national deputies, the presidents of the La Libertad Avanza, PRO and MID blocs, Gabriel Bornoroni, Cristian Ritondo and Oscar Zago, respectively, and the following legislators attended the meeting: Nicolás Mayoraz (LLA), Santiago Santurio (LLA), Carlos Zapata (LLA), Nadia Marquez (LLA), Silvia Lospennato (PRO), Silvana Giudici (PRO) and Eduardo Falcone (MID).
At the meeting, officials and legislators agreed to promote the bill of deputies Oscar Zago and Eduardo Falcone (MID), which aims to eliminate privileged retirements.
Legislators participate in these weekly meetings with the intention of fine-tuning the legislative relationship. It was even agreed to move forward with the correction of the decree regulating access to public informationquestioned by the opposition.
However, the legislators avoided talking about the strategy to shield Javier Milei’s veto of the University Financing Law. He Mauricio Macri’s PRO maintains silence, which is strictly speaking a message to the President that calls into question his permanence in the veto club, inaugurated in the retirement reform law.
Single Ballot: a challenge for La Libertad Avanza
In turn, from 5 p.m. the heads of the so-called dialogue blocks will hold a meeting to bring together positions on the Single Paper Ballot. La Libertad Avanza had to advance to this Tuesday the session in Deputies where the project could become law, an electoral challenge not only for the ruling party but for the entire political ecosystem in the face of the 2025 legislative elections.
In the Senate the sanction of Deputies and he left out the complete ballot buttonbased on a claim from the Rio Negro senator Mónica Silva and the governor of that province, Alberto Weretilneck. Along the same lines appear the governors, for example, of Misiones, Salta and Nequén who manage a provincial party without the possibility of carrying over national positions in the other electoral categories.
The change is great for the electoral culture of the country and the political parties. The approval of the BUP It would imply, for example, that Javier Milei could not drag candidates from other categories in 2025 as was the case with the traditional ballot. The same would happen with the governors in their provinces.
