Shawn Mendes canceled his “Wonder” world tour in summer 2022. Now he explains why he considers this step to be the “best decision” of his life.
According to his own words, the Canadian singer Shawn Mendes is very happy about his tour cancellation two years ago. “Canceling the tour was by far the hardest decision of my life and by far the best decision of my life,” the 26-year-old said on the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast. “She gave me a life, you know? She gave me time to discover so much about myself.”
Mendes said that his entire life had previously consisted of performing since he was a child. “I didn’t have any other aspects of life that I felt connected to that I could lean on to take a little break from touring,” he explained. He knew that in order to have more balance he first had to “create a life” for himself.
