Lizzo is known for her statements about body positivity. The musician has been doing more sports for some time now. She wants to lose weight – without the help of medication.
Lizzo has not only shaped the music landscape in recent years, but has also repeatedly set an example with her statements about her body. She repeatedly celebrated her curvy figure, for example in the song “Tempo”: “Thick thighs save lives,” it says. It’s not without reason that her Instagram name is “Lizzobeeating.” “Even if body positivity eventually ends, I won’t suddenly become a thin, white woman. I will continue to be black and fat,” she told the US magazine “The Cut” a few years ago. But now Lizzo wants to change her body.
Lizzo lost weight
The singer is increasingly posting videos and pictures from the gym. The singer does not leave her weight loss success uncommented. This is how she recently reacted to a derogatory comment from a social media user on Instagram. Under one of the musician’s posts, he asked: “Did she take Ozempic or coke?” An allusion to the 36-year-old’s changed body. Ozempic, actually known as a drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, is currently used by many people – especially celebrities – for weight loss.
Lizzo provided the answer herself. “When you’re finally accused of Ozempic after you’ve done strength training for five months and were in a calorie deficit,” she wrote alongside a selfie of herself. She discussed the fact that her path to weight loss isn’t always easy also online. On TikTok she explained why she wasn’t feeling well. “I ate too much yesterday and I feel really bad about it. I’m trying to remind myself that my body needed this food,” said the musician. “And if my body deserves comfort, then my brain deserves comfort too,” she said.

What Lizzo has in her bag and who is hiding under the chain mask
The fact that the singer is so open about wanting to change her body is well received by her fans. Many who are currently experiencing something similar feel understood by the singer. Others seem to have learned from Lizzo’s previous statements about body image and body positivity. “I’ve noticed the changes in the last few months but I haven’t mentioned it because it’s 2024 and we shouldn’t talk about someone’s body. Anyway, you look great!” one fan said Point.
