More than 20 women have accused Mohamed Al-Fayed of abuse. Now Lady Diana’s butler follows up: He also had the princess in his sights – and therefore paired her up with his son.
It is said to have been a reign of terror: During his time as owner of the luxury department store Harrods, Mohamed Al-Fayed is said to have harassed, abused and sometimes even raped dozens of his female employees. Her butler now claims that he even pursued Princess Diana aggressively for years. She suspected what he was doing. And was still shocked by an offer.
Paul Burrell reports this to the “Sun”. He served as Diana’s butler for years and was considered the princess’s close confidante until her death. According to his stories, Al-Fayed had been enthusiastic about the beautiful princess since 1986, often brought her into his department store through a secret tunnel and opened it at night for her and her sons William and Harry for private shopping tours. During one of these visits in 1995, he became brutally direct.

“I was waiting for her in the car when she came running out of his office shaking,” Burrell remembers. “She told me he told her ‘I want you to marry my son. Because in Egyptian tradition, the father comes before the son’.” He left what that meant to no interpretation. “I will sleep with you,” he is said to have announced literally.
“In shock, she asked me, ‘Can you imagine making love to Yoda?'” Burrell recalls. The princess was disgusted, called Al-Fayed a “revil” and a “god” because of his aloof behavior. She was disgusted by the idea of giving herself to a man who was more than twice her age. Al-Fayed saw it differently. “He was convinced that it was his right and that he really would sleep with the Princess of Wales.”

Arranged relationship?
In fact, Al-Fayed also orchestrated the later relationship with his son Dodi, Burrell believes. “We all always saw Dodi and the Princess. But the mastermind was Fayed,” he believes. “His son was just a pawn in his game.” The father spent millions to seduce the princess and bought a yacht on which his son enabled Diana and her sons to escape from everyday royal life. “He wanted nothing more than to be related to the royal family.”
Diana had already complained back then that Al-Fayed was always touching her. “You don’t touch the members of the royal family,” explains Burrell. Actually. There are even photos of Al-Fayed holding Diana’s hips with both hands. Nevertheless, Burrell is certain that the crown protected them from the worst. “He couldn’t go that far with her. She always had the upper hand because he couldn’t lose her,” he believes. “But if he did that to Princess Diana – then you can only imagine what he did to other women.”
