Google announced yesterday, through its official blog, a new update for Gmail mobile applications. This new tool works on both Android and iOS, which introduces the summary cards. They are located in the header of the emails and present the most relevant information prominently. However, at the moment they are only available for four types of emails: Invoices, Events, Purchases and Travel.
The content you want to access is exclusive to subscribers.
What are the new cards like?
These cards are not static, but they update automatically depending on the category to which the email belongs. For example, if it is a billthe card will show you the name of the issuer, the total amount, the expiration date and the minimum payment required. Additionally, you will have buttons to view the invoice and create reminders.


In the case of an email related to eventsthe card includes the event name, date and time, location, seating, and access to Google Calendar. It also allows invite others to the event, view tickets, and view instructions for attending.

If the email is related to a buysGmail will show you details such as the product name, an image, shipping status, order and tracking number. Additionally, you can Track the package and view more detailed information about the purchase.
Lastly, if it is a transportation reservationlike a flight, the card will provide you with information such as the names of departure and arrival locations, travel times, flight and confirmation numbers, as well as including shortcuts to manage the reservation and check-in.
Quick access from your inbox
Finally, Google also announced that these cards will be available in a new section of the Gmail search engine called “Happening Now”which will appear in the top of inbox to facilitate access to the most recent and relevant information in your emails.
