La Rioja approved the expropriation of a field belonging to Ramón Díaz

The Rioja legislators made the decision to advance the ownership of the idol of River Plate considering that, in its more than 20 years as owner, its owner did not make investments and prevents access to water resources essential for the development of the area.

The local legislator Carlos Machicotewho responds to the Peronist governor Ricardo Quintelapointed out that the field that Díaz currently owns “will be used to provide drinking water to the residents of the town of Patquía where these goods are scarce.”

According to the leader, the former soccer player acquired the property for $75,000 pesos, equivalent, at the time, to $26,785.

Warning from Ricardo Quintela to Javier Milei

This week, the governor Quintelaparticipated this Wednesday in the university march in the Federal Capital where one million people were mobilized, according to the organizers. “We are against the defunding of universities,” he stated.

Furthermore, Quintela pointed out that “in the province of La Rioja there are three public universities, the National University of La Rioja (UNLaR); the National University of Chilecito (UNdeC); and the National Technological University (UTN)”.

In a massive march, students and authorities of public national universities demanded more budget to resolve the crisis they are going through. The president of the Argentine University Federation (FUA), Piera Fernandezgave a strong closing speech and warned that if the university budget for 2025 sent by the Government is not modified “The continuity is at stake” of the houses of higher education and the scientific system.
