Actress Naomi Watts walked hand in hand with her son on the premiere carpet of her new film in New York City.
The British-Australian actress Naomi Watts (56) appeared in very special company at the premiere of her new film “The Friend” in New York City on Thursday. She walked hand in hand on the red carpet with her son Alexander “Sasha” Pete Schreiber (17). The 17-year-old student has grown so tall that he is a head length taller than his famous mother, who enhanced her own stature with black patent leather pumps.
Mother and son in matching outfits
Matching his mother, the teen wore an all-black suit with a gold necklace, while Watts turned heads in a semi-sheer bustier dress with a voluminous PVC midi skirt. She paired it with a pair of chic diamond earrings. Her hair was styled into her signature blonde bob with a middle part at the film event at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in Manhattan. As is, the two-time Oscar-nominated artist also wore a tuxedo blazer like a cape over her shoulders and carried a reptile clutch.
Sasha Schreiber owes his impressive height to his famous father, actor Liev Schreiber (57), who is 1.91 meters tall. Watts and Schreiber also had Kai Schreiber, now 15, during their eleven-year relationship, which ended amicably in 2016 before both met their current spouses.
“You have a heart of gold. I’m so proud of you. 17 years ago you shot into the world and stretched your arms to the sky,” Naomi raved about her older son on Instagram in July.
In “The Friend” Naomi Watts goes to the dogs
Naomi Watts produced the film “The Friend” and also stars as Manhattan writer Iris. She inherits a 150-pound Great Dane after its owner and Iris’ best friend and mentor Walter (Bill Murray, 74) dies. At the screening, Watts beamed when she saw the film’s dog Bing, who made his acting debut in the 120-minute film.
