Kamala Harris will appear on a late-night show on October 8th for the first time since announcing her presidential candidacy.
Kamala Harris (59) will make her first appearance on a late-night show since she was announced as a candidate for US President in August. As reported, the Democrat will be a guest on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on CBS next Tuesday, October 8th.
For Harris, who is currently Vice President of the USA under Joe Biden (81), the upcoming appearance will be the seventh with talk show host Stephen Colbert (60). She first appeared on the show on April 19, 2018 in her capacity as US Senator from California, and last appeared on March 15, 2023.
Also Tim Walz on the late night show
Harris’ appearance on Stephen Colbert comes one day after her colleague Tim Walz (60) will be a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”. For Walz, who is campaigning as Kamala Harris’ vice president, the visit to host Jimmy Kimmel (56) on Monday, October 7th is his first appearance ever on a late-night show.
In the United States, it is common practice for politicians to appear as guests on the country’s popular late-night shows. They use the stage to convey their political messages to a broad, especially younger, audience in a less formal setting. Kamala Harris’ political opponent Donald Trump (78) last appeared in September 2024 on the conservative late-night show “Gutfeld!” by Greg Gutfeld (60).
