Mariano Biocca: “Today AI is used to warn of unusual movements in accounts and detect crimes”

Mariano Biocca, Director of the Fintech Chamber, revealed that the use of artificial intelligence is key to preventing cybercrimes.

Transparency, growth, open finance and joint work were some of the words that were mentioned during the panel dedicated to good professional practices and cybercrime prevention during the eighth edition of World Investor Week (SMI), which took place in the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange.

Thus the honeycombs called Finance, Technology and good practices which included the participation Sonia Salvatierramember of the CNV Board of Directors; Alejandro Mussoprosecutor in charge of the Specialized Fiscal Unit in the Investigation of Cybercrimes (UFEIC); Marcelo Bastantefinancial services specialist; Mariano Bioccadirector of the Fintech Chamber and Victoria Donatodeputy manager of PSAVs at the CNV.

In turn, Biocca recalled that currently the Fintech chamber has 300 companies and 24 work spaces and, within them, two of the most active are fraud prevention and the good cybersecurity practices.

“We have world-class companies, which are like a Formula 1, and a universe of younger companies with fewer resources but just as integrated. We have to shorten the learning curves to a minimum,” he said. In that sense, he added: “There is a job that has to do with how companies consent to people regarding the vulnerability of their security.”

In this regard he said that Today there is “a lot of focus on the use of artificial intelligence to control unusual patterns that allows the company to have a clue that something out of the ordinary is happening” and thus prevent cybercrimes because access to financial services through cell phones is “here to stay.”
