The “Tatort” star Martin Brambach is remixing his private and professional life: He is a new grandfather and would therefore like to slow down a bit.
Great news from actor and “Tatort” star Martin Brambach (56). “Yes, it’s true. I just became a grandfather!”. The consequence for him: He now wants to slow down a bit. “In the second half of the year I would like to take things a little easier so that I can have more time for my family.” Brambach lives with his fellow actor and wife Christine Sommer (54), who brought two daughters into the marriage. They have a son together. Brambach also has another son from a previous relationship.
But all “Tatort” fans don’t need to worry. Since 2016 he has been playing the oddball police chief Peter Michael Schnabel in the Dresden “Tatort” team – and that’s unlikely to change any time soon: “I hope that we’ll be able to entertain viewers with our Dresden ‘Tatort’ for a few more years may.” There are still “enough exciting stories” to tell in his city. Although he has already received a pension notice, he is not yet thinking about retirement: “If you are a freelancer, work with many different employers and sometimes earn your living on account, the pension notice for many actors is not really generous in the end.”
Martin Brambach wants to support his children financially
He knows many people, especially in artistic professions, who need to earn something extra on top of their pension. For him too, if he had three days of filming on a film, he would only be employed and insured for those days. “So I have to see for myself that, if possible, I save something for retirement,” says Brambach openly and honestly. He also doesn’t just have to support a family and provide for himself: “We have four children and a grandchild, and of course I would like to support them financially if necessary.”
