After the police operation, Pietro Lombardi is under scrutiny at “DSDS”. That happened with his predecessors Wendler and Naidoo.
Pietro Lombardi (32) is under scrutiny after the police operation on RTL. The station still stands by its “DSDS” juror – with an uncertain outcome. This is somewhat reminiscent of the fate of Lombardi’s jury predecessors, singer Xavier Naidoo (53) and pop singer Michael Wendler (52). The two were judges on the talent show when scandals made them intolerable. In both 2020 and 2021, the channel pulled the ripcord and continued the TV show without them.
Xavier Naidoo had to leave the TV show in 2020
The Mannheim musician Xavier Naidoo was thrown out of the “DSDS” jury after a video of him appeared online in March 2020 in which he apparently sang a few lines of a previously unreleased song that was celebrated in right-wing circles.
RTL then published a statement: “Xavier Naidoo has not yet responded to our offer to provide a plausible explanation for his misleading and contradictory statements.” The broadcaster would have liked a direct and public discussion with him. This did not come about, so a return would be impossible.
Michael Wendler was even cut out in 2021
Michael Wendler announced his departure from “DSDS” in an Instagram clip in October 2020 and at the same time terminated his contract with RTL. Wendler became increasingly entangled in conspiracy theories, so that RTL finally pulled the ripcord in January 2021. The pop singer had previously claimed that a corona measure set by the federal and state governments on January 5th would create conditions like those in concentration camps, which RTL clearly distanced itself from.
to cut it entirely from the already filmed “DSDS” episodes, even if this would lead to “significant, sometimes dramatic breaks; but above all to pictorial ‘errors’ that do not meet our standards and our demands.”
Dramatic night with Lombardi and Rypa
The argument between Pietro Lombardi (32) and his fiancée Laura Maria Rypa (28) on the night of October 7th has no consequences for the time being for the singer’s participation as a juror in the RTL casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. A spokesman for the station confirmed this to the news agency spot on news.
“Pietro and his lawyer emphatically deny the allegations. In addition, Laura and Pietro published a statement on Instagram at the same time. RTL will continue to closely follow the developments and investigations in this matter. Today’s ‘DSDS’ broadcast will go ahead as planned as things stand broadcast,” the RTL spokesman takes the position.
After differences of opinion between Lombardi and Rypa, there was a police operation at the musician’s address.
Joint statement
After the first media reports about a serious argument, the couple published a statement to the same effect on their respective Instagram pages. Late on Tuesday evening it said in its Instagram stories: “Due to the current headlines, we have to speak out. The press is trying to aggravate the conflict even more and often doesn’t take some statements very seriously. We don’t want that, so we will comply “We don’t offer a platform here and act in the interests of our children, so that the public is kept out.” They would understand that many people would have questions. However, they ask that you refrain from making further inquiries.
“Germany is looking for the superstar” will be broadcast on RTL this Wednesday at 8:15 p.m.
