The happiness between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez wasn’t meant to last. But the singer learned something for life from the end of her love.
Despite initially being Hollywood-worthy, the love between Ben Affleck (52) and Jennifer Lopez (55) was not granted a happy ending – the divorce process between the two is said to have long been in full swing. People waited in vain for direct statements about the end of love – until now. In a detailed conversation that Lopez had with US comedian Nikki Glaser, the singer spoke freely about her current existence as a single.
Last summer she learned how important it is to be enough for yourself. “I had to go out and be alone. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it.” It was damn difficult at first: “It feels lonely, unknown and scary. It feels sad, it feels desperate.” But then the feeling changed and turned into the opposite.
She discovered that she was “capable of joy and happiness all by myself. Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t look for my happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within me. I’ve always said that I’m a happy person “I’m human, but I was still looking for something that someone else could fill.”
“I’m not looking for anyone right now”
For this reason, she is currently not looking for a new relationship and can say for the first time as a single: “I’m not looking for anyone right now.” But she hasn’t renounced love itself because of that and she continues to describe herself as a “romantic who loves being in relationships and wants to grow old with someone.” But now she knows that she doesn’t need that to “feel whole and happy.”
As US media consistently reported, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August and set the date of separation as April 26, 2024. There had been a lot of speculation about relationship problems between the two in recent months.
