Sean Combs: Trial scheduled for May 2025

The imprisoned rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs must stand trial from May 2025. A judge in New York has now determined this.

During the first court date after the arrest of rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs (54), a New York judge set the date for the planned start of the trial. Combs is scheduled to stand trial from May 5, 2025, as several US media outlets consistently report. It had previously been known that the imprisoned Combs was aiming for a trial to begin next spring.

Sean Combs could be in custody until the trial begins

Both the rapper and his mother and children are said to have appeared at the appointment on October 10th. The 54-year-old hip-hop mogul has been in custody since mid-September. Sean Combs, who insists he is innocent, is accused, among other things, of abusing, threatening and coercing women for years. Other allegations include illegal sex trafficking and organized crime.

Thursday’s hearing took place after Combs’ lawyers filed an appeal in connection with requests for the rapper’s release on bail. Two different judges had previously denied Combs his release. There are concerns that Combs could try to intimidate witnesses and thereby influence them.

Combs is currently in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. He will probably remain there until the trial begins if his lawyers’ appeal is not successful.
