Formal salaried employment suffered its tenth consecutive fall in July in monthly terms. Since Javier Milei has been president, almost 200,000 jobs have been lost with those characteristics.
This was reported in the report of the Argentine Integrated Pension System (SIPA) published this Thursday. Between employees in the private sector, employees in the public sector and workers in private homes, During the seventh month of the year, 10,200 fewer jobs were registered than in June.
In the private segment the decline was 8,900 jobswhich explained most of the deterioration of the labor market. Among public employees, the net loss represented some 1,400 people, while employment in private homes showed an increase of 1,000 workers (the vast majority of whom are women).
Compared to November 2023, prior to the arrival of the new Government, 196,400 jobs were lost. Of them, 146,500 were in the private sector, 41,300 in the public sector and 8,700 in the private home segment.
The CTA researcher, Luis Campos, highlighted that, in absolute terms, private companies have the same level of employment as in 2015with a population that grew by 9% in the same period.
