Peter Maffay, Hazel Brugger and Lang Lang await Barbara Schöneberger at “Do you understand fun?” The presenter is still keeping a low profile about one of her show highlights.
According to her own words, presenter Barbara Schöneberger (50) often does things right for other people. “I’m not that good at turning down wishes, and I’m even less good at expressing wishes,” Schöneberger told the German Press Agency (dpa) in Berlin. “I’m happy to say yes, but at the same time I don’t dare ask anyone for a favor.”
Singer Peter Maffay is on the new live edition of the Saturday evening show “Do you understand fun?” almost the opposite is the case. For the television program produced by Südwestrundfunk (SWR) in Berlin (8:15 p.m., Das Erste), the 75-year-old lures his fellow musician Johannes Oerding into a trap by asking him for a friendship tattoo. He formulated his wish so credibly that Oerding didn’t doubt it for a second, said Schöneberger.
Hazel Brugger as the beach supervisor, Jorge González as the fortune teller
Entertainer Hazel Brugger, presenter Victoria Swarovski, “Let’s Dance” juror Jorge González and star pianist Lang Lang are also expecting guests on the show.
The latter was tricked by his wife Gina Alice Redlinger with an alleged hidden camera television campaign. With comedian Martin “Maddin” Schneider as his coach, the 42-year-old Chinese native is supposed to record a short spot for more classical music in the region – in Hessian.
Schöneberger: “We fooled the whole of Germany”
As a strict beach supervisor, Brugger targets visitors with arbitrary signs. “In fact, there was always a point where I wanted to redeem the other person,” the 30-year-old told dpa. “But luckily the humorous survival instinct somehow kicked in.” Swarovski misleads the choreographer González by taking him to a fortune teller who suddenly develops supernatural abilities.
Schöneberger is still keeping a low profile about one of her show highlights and only says: “We tricked the whole of Germany and made sure that a lot of people talk about us without knowing that they are talking about us.” She has not yet succeeded in doing this. “Unfortunately I can’t reveal anything more.”
Less “Do you understand fun?” issues
In the future, fewer editions of the classic show will be shown due to savings and cost pressure – only three instead of five, as SWR announced in June. There will be an increasing number of exclusive clips for the ARD media library and content that can be seen on platforms such as YouTube.
“The fact that a little more time now passes between the individual programs gives us the opportunity to work even more intensively on the films,” said Schöneberger. You could also make one or two more films for individual programs. The team wants to try “to reach everyone in Germany on as many channels as possible.”
