Lukas Podolski says goodbye to his son Louis in Cologne

The images went around the world at the time: On July 13, 2014, the German national soccer team won the World Cup title in Rio de Janeiro. Mario Götze scored the 1-0 win against Argentina in extra time. The DFB players then celebrated with their families on the pitch. Lukas Podolski was also there – and his then six-year-old son Louis. The boy was allowed to hold the World Cup trophy in his arms, chatted with Thomas Müller and Bastian Schweinsteiger and was carried through the stadium on his father’s shoulders.
