Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit made it public six years ago that she was suffering from chronic lung disease. Now she is being treated for it again.
Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit (51) is again being treated for her chronic lung disease. The Norwegian royal family announced that she had started treatment again. Previous experience has shown that the side effects of the medication could have an impact on the appointment calendar. That’s why we want to share this information with the public.
The Norwegian princess suffers from pulmonary fibrosis – a chronic lung disease that can lead to, among other things, shortness of breath. The wife of the heir to the throne, Crown Prince Haakon (51), made the illness public herself six years ago. In recent years, Mette-Marit has canceled several appointments for health reasons or generally cut back on public events.
A year ago she visited Germany with her husband. The couple commemorated the fall of the Berlin Wall in Berlin. Haakon had previously traveled in the country without his wife accompanying him.
The couple married in 2001. They have two children together – Princess Ingrid Alexandra (20) and Prince Sverre Magnus (18). Mette-Marit also has a son from a previous relationship, Marius Borg Høiby (27). There were allegations of violence against him this summer. The investigation into this continues.
