Stefanie Giesinger: Unconventional engagement in Japan

Stefanie Giesinger (28) announced in an unconventional way that she was engaged – and the story was at least the same. The model talks to actor Jannik Schümann (32) about the topic of marriage and reveals that she recently spontaneously wanted to get married in Japan. “I also had a marriage proposal in Japan. Three and a half months ago I met a man who I thought was really great and I immediately fell in love with him,” said Giesinger.

The time with her new acquaintance “felt very nice and inspiring,” but then she had to travel to Japan for a month. While they were away, discussions about a possible wedding arose, even though they had only known each other for three months at the time. “I was the first to say: ‘I can imagine getting married to you straight away. I just want to be with you, no matter what. I just feel this connection,'” says the former “Germany’s Next Top Model”. “-Winner.

The wedding plans became so concrete that Stefanie Giesinger looked for wedding locations in Japan and even found a wedding dress. After three weeks, her partner followed and officially proposed to her. “He knelt down in front of me in the rain and asked me if I wanted to marry him. And for me it wasn’t the moment where I cried, but rather I was like: ‘Um, yeah, sure, we’ll talk all the time about it.’ “I was pretty emotionless, which I think was a bit stupid for him,” the podcaster recalls. The proposal was followed by a five-hour conversation in which the couple agreed to wait a little longer before getting married.

Tattoo instead of ring

When Schümann asked, Giesinger confirmed again: “Yes, I’m engaged.” She is “very happy and I love it.” As a sign of her love, she now has a new tattoo. Because her boyfriend didn’t have an engagement ring due to the spontaneous action, they painted rings on each other’s fingers and had them tattooed. “Now we’re also fiancé and fiancé, and that feels sweet too,” enthuses the influencer.

But she doesn’t yet know when and how she really wants to get married. Giesinger dreams of a spontaneous wedding, a fairytale wedding in front of friends and family is not her taste: “Everything in me screams not to do it this traditional way.”

It is not officially known who Stefanie Giesinger’s fiancé is. She wasn’t even in a relationship with him before the engagement. “I know it all seems very wild. I’m a wild person, and so is he,” she sums up. By the end of 2022, she had been in a relationship with YouTuber Marcus Butler (32) for six years.
