Rescue on the motorway: Thanks to the efforts of Mainz 05 professional footballer Dominik Kohr, a woman was rescued from an emergency situation.
Dominik Kohr (30) probably saved a human life on Wednesday evening (October 9th). The football professional from Mainz 05 said that on the way home from a charity game on the A60 motorway he noticed a person in the ditch who seemed to be “supporting himself”. “That seemed strange to me, so I drove past the spot again. And then I just saw the woman lying down,” said the athlete.
In the next layby he then alerted the police and went with them back to the person, who was a helpless older lady. She had already been reported missing and was in distress. She was also very hypothermic. “I don’t want to cover myself with fame, I’m just happy that I was able to help find the woman. That’s just nice,” emphasizes Kohr. He was “in the right place at the right time”.
Dominik Kohr has “goosebumps” because of the incident
He has since spoken to the police again and knows that the woman is doing well again. “They also said: If I hadn’t found her, they wouldn’t know whether the older lady would have survived the night,” reports the midfielder. “You get goosebumps when you hear that the woman is doing well now.”
On the football field, however, Kohr is currently not covering himself with fame. He always attracts attention with his rough manner and unnecessarily hard fouls, for which he received his fifth yellow card in the sixth Bundesliga game of the season. “Everyone who knows me knows that I also have another side and that I am a helpful person,” asserts the footballer, who is known as “Hard-Kohr”.
