Fans rejoice: Hollywood star Anna Kendrick has brought two old “Pitch Perfect” colleagues into the cast of her first directorial work.
It was like the good old days: “Pitch Perfect” star Anna Kendrick (39) presented her next successful project on the red carpet of the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. In the feature film “Woman of the Hour” she not only plays the lead role, she also directed it for the first time. She has brought in two former “Pitch Perfect” colleagues to support her.
“Pitch Perfect” dream team reunited
Anna Kendrick on the red carpet next to Chrissie Fit (40) and Kelley Jakle (35): “Pitch Perfect” fans are guaranteed to go into raptures at this sight, as all three have known each other for a long time from their days filming the Hollywood blockbuster. In “Woman of the Hour” the dream team is reunited, even if Fit and Jakle initially had to get used to director Kendrick.
Thriller about a dating show with a serial killer
Kendrick ventures into directing for the first time with “Woman of the Hour”, as the original title says. The thriller is based on a true story about young actress Cheryl Bradshaw, played by Anna Kendrick. She moves to Hollywood in the 1970s, takes part in the dating show “The Dating Game” in 1978 and is unknowingly paired with the serial killer Rodney Alcala (Daniel Zovatto, 33). Nicolette Robinson (36) and Tony Hale (54) can be seen in other roles. The streaming giant Netflix has secured the rights to “Woman of the Hour”. A broadcast date has not yet been set. The Netflix film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and received consistently positive reviews.
