Hailie Jade Scott (28), daughter of US rapper Eminem (51), has revealed the gender of her baby in “Just A Little Shady”. As a video for the episode shows, the influencer and podcaster and her husband Evan McClintock burst a balloon with confetti in the corresponding color. Hailie Jade also looked back on the moment she broke the good news of her pregnancy to her father.
A football jersey revealed the secret
Eminem announced his daughter’s pregnancy in a touching music video for his song “Temporary” at the beginning of October. The clip features dozens of Hailie Jade Scott’s old home videos. Towards the end of the video, the proud father shared a new video of himself and his daughter together announcing that she is expecting her first child with her husband Evan McClintock. She gives her father a blue football jersey with the inscription “Grandpa” and the number 1 as well as an ultrasound picture. Eminem’s jaw drops and his eyes widen in disbelief.
“We gave my father a jersey that said Grandpa on the back, and it worked perfectly,” explained Hailie Jade in her podcast. “He was worried at first and said, ‘I don’t have a gift for you.’ I said, ‘No, no, it’s just for football season.’ When he saw the jersey, the rapper was again confused and asked his daughter if she wanted to call him “old” because of the print. It wasn’t until the ultrasound image was shown that the musician realized it: “He said: ‘Wait, that’s real. This is really happening,'” said his daughter. “If you saw the video, that was my dad’s real reaction.” To announce it to the rest of the family members, Eminem immediately put on the shirt and proudly presented it while watching football together.
At the end of the episode, the couple, who said they deliberately didn’t want a big gender reveal party, then answered the question about the gender of the baby. Hailie Jade popped a balloon in her husband’s hand, revealing blue confetti. “It’s a boy,” Evan McClintock confirmed the meaning of the color.
As People magazine reports, Hailie Jade and Evan McClintock met at Michigan State University in 2016. After six years of dating, the couple got engaged in early 2023. More than a year after their engagement, Hailie Jade announced in May 2024 that the two had married in a post on Instagram with her wedding photos.
