Through a video broadcast on social networks, the president and candidate for reelection for the Blue List of the ruling party of the Circle of Sports Journalists Roberto Gerbasi warned about a series of irregularities and risks posed by the opposition list headed by Luis Ventura.
The opposition candidacy has the support of Osvaldo Yankillevich, who until recently held the position of vice president of the institution.
Gerbasi explained that, for the first time in 25 years, elections will be held in the Círculo, a fact that, according to the president, is due to the fact that Yankillevich took advantage of his six-month medical leave to put together an opposition list, “behind the backs of his colleagues on the Board of Directors.”

According to the Blue List candidate, Yankillevich is using Luis Ventura as a “Trojan horse” to return to power in an institution from which he left amid complaints from staff and suspicions of fraud and fraudulent management.
Furthermore, Gerbasi stressed that Yankillevich resigned amid the suspicions mentioned above, a week before the election, which reveals the opposition’s lack of transparency.
The ruling party also highlighted that the opposition list is called “Renewal”, but it does not represent any real change, since Yankillevich, despite being second on the list, was vice president until just a week ago, he was a member of the board of directors for more than a decade and is almost 90 years old, which contradicts the idea of renewal.
The ruling party’s complaint also includes accusations of alleged bad practices on the part of Yankillevich, such as the attempt to adulterate the registers, mistreatment of staff, and the recommendation of a contract with a close friend of his that was detrimental to the institution, which would have generated economic losses for the Circle.
Gerbasi regretted that, at the time, the Board of Directors had not convened the Court of Honor to deal with these anomalies, assuming that they could correct the errors internally.
The president highlighted the transparency and honesty with which his management has carried out the administration of the Circle, doubling the number of members during this term. Gerbasi highlighted the support of renowned journalists such as Enrique Macaya Márquez, Ernesto Cherquis Bialo, Carlos Alberto Legnani, Juan Fazzini, Guillermo Blanco, Miguel Simón, Fernando Signorini, Ezequiel Fernández Moores and Viviana Vila, among others, who support the continuity of the Blue List .

The prominent journalist added that “we cannot leave the Círculo in the hands of people who, although they are good communicators, do not understand the value of the school, ethics and training that the Círculo represents.”
Cherquis Bialo He also emphasized the importance of the Circle continuing to be an ethical reference for future generations of journalists, and expressed his support for Roberto Gerbasi and his team, who “have dedicated their lives to defending and supporting sports journalism.” In his words, “we are in danger, and we must take this into account to save the Circle from those who seek other personal aspirations.”
Finally, Gerbasi called on members to go to vote next Monday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., at the Círculo headquarters at Rodríguez Peña 628, emphasizing that it is essential to prevent the institution from being left in the hands of those who only pursue their goals. personal interests.
