Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: Comeback with top-class models

After six years: The legendary Victoria’s Secret fashion show is back and features numerous well-known catwalk beauties.

Adriana Lima, Tyra Banks, Gigi Hadid – they all gather on the catwalk for this show. From 1995 to 2018, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was one of the biggest catwalk events of the year. The underwear brand has spawned numerous supermodels in its oversized wing walks. After a six-year break, she returns on October 15th.

New image and more female power

In 2018, Victoria’s Secret canceled its fashion show due to low ratings and growing criticism. In order to present itself with a new, better image, the comeback show is expressly produced only by women. However, the show should also retain its tried and tested style. “There will be glamour, wings, fashion, musical entertainment, models and much more. With updates that also reflect our current brand values and commitments,” said the organizers

These models are there

Victoria’s Secret has announced numerous names who once walked the runway as “Victoria’s Secret Angels” and will now return. Above all, supermodel Tyra Banks (50), Adriana Lima (43) and Gigi Hadid (29). Candice Swanepoel (35), Behati Prinsloo (36) and Barbara Palvin (31) are also back. Other names include Paloma Elsesser (32), Taylor Hill (28) and Jasmine Tookes (33).

For the first time, plus-size models are also allowed to walk the catwalk at the new show. Victoria’s Secret has repeatedly come under fire in the past for exclusively featuring thin models. They want to counteract this with their comeback and have also signed plus-size supermodel Ashley Graham (36).

Cher and more than music acts

Of course, the musical acts at the fashion show comeback are also purely female. The artists Tyla (22) and Lisa (27) as well as music icon Cher (78) will perform live and accompany the models with their singing.

The show will take place in New York City and will stream live on Amazon Prime Video as well as the brand’s YouTube, Instagram and TikTok channels. In Germany it starts at 1:00 a.m. on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday.
