“Saturday Night Live” jokes about Oasis: Liam Gallagher is not amused

Oasis’ comeback tour is coming up next year. Jokes about this don’t seem to go down well, especially with Liam Gallagher.

Some fans of the British cult band still can hardly believe that the Gallagher brothers Liam (52) and Noel (57) actually got together for an Oasis reunion. Some concert ticket holders are even worried that things could break out between them again before the start of the world tour in July 2025. The comedians James Austin Johnson (35) as Noel and Sarah Sherman (31) as Liam Gallagher took on this line.

In the sketch, Colin Jost (42), in his role as a news presenter, asks whether the two of them will really manage not to be at each other’s throats on the tour. Noel and Liam say yes and then promptly argue about who would handle it more calmly. “You are 50 years old and bicker like little children,” Jost finally states. His request: “I really want your tour to work, okay? Because I’ve already bought tickets and I want to go hard enough to win the White Boy of the Year award.”

The live audience on site had a lot of fun with the sketch. Completely different from Liam Gallagher. He was not amused by this and asked briefly, succinctly and probably a bit annoyed: “Are they supposed to be comedians?”

It starts in summer 2025

The big “Oasis Live ’25” reunion tour starts on July 4th, 2025 in Cardiff, followed by 16 more concerts until August 17th – but only in Great Britain and Ireland. This will be followed by appearances in Canada, the USA and Mexico. European Oasis fans from the mainland continue to watch the tube. The Gallagher brothers still remain committed to not playing any other European shows outside of Great Britain and Ireland.

The Gallagher brothers had such a falling out in 2009 that they broke up their cult band and continued with solo projects. Rumors of a reunion persisted throughout the years, and on August 27, 2024 they finally announced their comeback.
