The popular singer Sarah Connor (44) has been passionately committed to orca whales for years. Now Connor has taken a stand in Berlin against the tourism company TUI to protect orcas and other marine mammals. In front of a corporate travel agency on Tuesday afternoon (October 15th), Connor squeezed himself into a small aquarium while lying down. In her hand she held a sign that read: “Set me free!”

Sarah Connor and the animal protection organization PETA want to draw attention to the TUI Group’s still common practice of offering tickets for holiday offers such as marine parks in which orcas or dolphins are kept captive. TUI would advertise relevant offers and support them financially through the sale of tickets.
“Stop selling tickets to marine zoos where orcas are kept captive!!! That’s so out!!!,” writes Connor in a story shortly before their protest. The organization PETA, which says: “The terrible suffering of orcas and other dolphins in marine zoos must finally end! It is unbelievable and completely out of time that TUI still supports these nightmarish prisons for marine mammals.”
Connor has been committed to orca whales for several years. At the beginning of the month, she demonstrated in front of the Danish embassy in Berlin for the prominent Canadian-American environmental activist and whale protector Paul Watson (73), who was imprisoned in Greenland.
