He always stirs up emotions with his statements: Now Thomas Gottschalk’s thoughts are also available “unfiltered” in book form.
Showmaster Thomas Gottschalk (74) doesn’t regret any of his jokes on television. “I don’t regret anything,” he told the German Press Agency before the publication of his new book “Unfiltered,” which will be published this Wednesday. But certain things would no longer fit the times. “Whether I see it that way or not doesn’t matter, as an entertainer you are only obliged to the public’s taste. If that changes, you have to change too,” said the former host of the ZDF Saturday evening show “Wetten, dass…?” .
In his new book he talks about show business, the influencer scene, gender and Generation Z. He no longer cares whether what he says is politically correct, said Gottschalk. He wants to live with the consequences of this. So far he has always said what guaranteed him the greatest applause. “At my age you don’t have to be ‘cool’ anymore, I’ve been that way all my life.”
With the publication date of the book, the entertainer is starting a reading tour. The first stop is Hamburg. Stops are also planned in Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Vienna and Cologne. Gottschalk, who is one of the best-known German entertainers, has already written two books: “Herbstblond” from 2015 and “Herbstbunt” from 2019.
