How to clean red wine from clothes
The salt trick
When red wine is spilled on the carpet or thick fabricsremove as much as possible with paper napkins and cover the remaining stain with plenty of salt, to the point that the wine cannot be seen. Let the salt absorb the liquid for a few minutes. Once it is dry, vacuum up all the wine-impregnated salt.
Combination of liquid detergent and hydrogen peroxide
Mix equal parts of liquid detergent and hydrogen peroxide. Apply the mixture to the stain and let it soak in the solution. You will see how the stain begins to fade. When sufficient time has passed for the mixture to have fully acted, wash the garment as usual. This method is most effective on light-colored clothing, since hydrogen peroxide can fade dark tones.
Boiling water (recommended for tablecloths)
Boil water and, in the meantime, place a large container in the sink, and I spread the tablecloth inside using elastic bands to keep it taut. Pour boiling water directly onto the stain so that it dissolves and disappears.
White vinegar and detergent
I covered the wine stain with white vinegar, which neutralizes red and violet pigments. Next, scrub with detergent and rinse with hot water. The stain should disappear completely.
