TV legend Thomas Gottschalk: “Happy in my new old life”

In his new book “Unfiltered” Thomas Gottschalk reports on his happiness “in his new old life” and reveals how he keeps fit.

Thomas Gottschalk (74) and his partner Karina are experiencing “the magic of home, family and old friendships again”, which he had “at some point ‘retired'”. This is what the entertainer writes in his new book “Unfiltered” (from October 16th, Heyne). He didn’t miss them because “they don’t matter on the red carpet, but they do in real life, and it’s fascinating to realize how little one has to do with the other and how comfortable I feel going back to them be,” he adds.

Gottschalk goes on to explain, among other things: “I suddenly see being back in normal life as a blessing, as much greater than the ratings of the last show.” His dream home is waiting for him in Gräfelfing and not in Malibu. Fischergasse in Kulmbach is closer to him again than Park Avenue in New York. “A person did this for me and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for that. I never lost my professional happiness, but thanks to her I found my personal happiness again.” According to the showmaster, he could honestly say that he was happy in his “new old life”.

Karina Mroß and Thomas Gottschalk are now married. On September 1st, he posted pictures from the celebration on Instagram.

That keeps Thomas Gottschalk young

In “Unfiltered” Gottschalk also writes about aging and the measures he has been taking for a long time “to keep the damaged areas as invisible as possible.” He relies on regular fasting treatments. He also explains: “And the best weapon against aging is free anyway. According to all doctors, nothing keeps you young like physical and mental flexibility.” According to the 74-year-old, he practices Nordic walking.

That’s what “Unfiltered” is about

In his new book, Thomas Gottschalk self-critically and self-deprecatingly examines the question of why he sometimes feels like he is out of time these days, and he tries to understand the rules and pitfalls of our society. With “Unfiltered: Confessions of someone who can’t keep his mouth shut” he wants to present a personal inventory and at the same time a plea for more calmness in dealing with one another. : With the book he not only thinks about the times in which we live, but also expresses them: “But I’m not complaining, I’m just wondering. As loudly as always!”
