Argentine Trains

In the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), traffic violations are measured and managed through a monitoring and control system that includes security cameras, radars and police patrols.

The value of fines for traffic violations is calculated using the Fixed Unit. The value of the UF is adjusted every six months according to the price of half a liter of gasoline established by the General Directorate of Statistics and Censuses.

Fines are calculated by multiplying the value of the UF by a specific factor that depends on the severity of the violation. One of these fines can exceed one million pesos.
