The public prosecutor has again brought charges against Alfons Schuhbeck. He was convicted in another case and is in prison.
The former star chef Alfons Schuhbeck (75) has been charged again. Senior public prosecutor and press spokeswoman Anne Leiding announced this in a statement on Wednesday. Accordingly, the Munich I public prosecutor’s office brought charges against Alfons Schuhbeck on October 14th.
This time it is about, among other things, the suspicion of delaying insolvency in nine cases, fraud in four cases, attempted fraud in five cases, subsidy fraud in nineteen cases and the withholding and embezzlement of wages in 479 cases, as the statement states.
A date for the trial has apparently not yet been set. As Leiding further reports, the responsible 12th Commercial Criminal Chamber of the Munich I Regional Court will still decide “on the opening of the main proceedings and thus on a possible scheduling of the main hearing”.
The letter also points out that the accused has already been convicted in another case and has been in prison since then.
Schuhbeck is in prison for tax evasion worth millions
Alfons Schuhbeck was sentenced to three years and two months in prison in October 2022 for tax evasion amounting to millions. He had appealed against the verdict. However, the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) largely confirmed the judgment in June 2023, saying it was “essentially legally binding”. Nothing changed in terms of the prison sentence.
Schuhbeck began his prison sentence on August 23, 2023. Monika Groß, the head of the Landsberg am Lech correctional facility, confirmed this to the “Augsburger Allgemeine”.
