Marius Borg Høiby has been released from police interrogation for the time being. His lawyer Øyvind Bratlien told the Norwegian television station.

“The interrogation of Marius Borg Høiby has now been completed. He took part in a total of eight police interrogations and explained himself in detail,” said the defense attorney. According to TV2, the public prosecutor’s office confirmed that the interrogations had been completed. Further surveys are to follow.

Marius Borg Høiby is accused of a number of offenses: bodily harm, damage to property, threats, reckless conduct and violating a restraining order against an ex-girlfriend.

His two ex-girlfriends Nora Haukland (27) and Juliane Snekkestad (29) accuse 27-year-old Høiby of bodily harm in a close relationship. He has now pleaded not guilty in these two cases, his lawyer said. In two other cases, however, it does.

Two ex-girlfriends with allegations against Marius Borg Høiby

The Høiby case got rolling at the beginning of August: after an alleged violent incident against an unnamed woman in an apartment on the night of August 4th, the police initiated criminal proceedings against Høiby. He is also said to have damaged several items. In addition to bodily harm, the case also involves property damage and threats, the Norwegian broadcaster reported.

Høiby admitted to bodily harm and property damage, which he is said to have committed under the influence of alcohol and cocaine. The victim is said to be his girlfriend.

After these allegations became known, Haukland and Snekkestad made further allegations. On September 15, Høiby was charged with domestic violence against the two women.

Punches, jostling and slaps

But he admits to his actions in the case of August 4th, said his defense attorney. Høiby also pleaded guilty to threatening another man, the newspaper reported, citing Bratlien.

According to information from TV2, the police believe that Høiby committed physical and psychological violence against Juliane Snekkestad between 2018 and January 2022. As reported, this involved beatings, jostling and slaps in the face. Snekkestad and Høiby were a couple from 2017 to 2022.

Høiby claims to have been abused himself

From 2022 to 2023, Høiby was with Haukland. She reported physical and psychological violence on social media. According to “VG”, this also consisted of punches, pushes and slaps. According to TV2, Høiby is also said to have committed property damage in the presence of the two.

“He pleads not guilty in the cases in which Haukland and Snekkestad are the injured parties,” Bratlien writes to TV2.

“Høiby testified about three turbulent relationships, for which he of course takes his share of responsibility,” Bratlien continued.

But that’s not all: At the same time, Høiby claims that one of the injured parties mistreated him in close relationships. “In his interviews he testified about abuse in close relationships with at least one of the women affected.”

TV 2 asked the defense attorney what Høiby meant by that and who he thought abused him. However, Bratlien did not want to answer any questions.

“My client is in no way surprised by what has come out now. We have waited a long time for clarification. Now it turns out that he admits nothing. This is no surprise for Juliane Snekkestad,” Snekkestad’s defense attorney Petter Grødem told NRK.

John Christian Elden, Nora Haukland’s lawyer, told the “VG”: “We asked the police for information and new case files based on the report, but we haven’t heard anything else.”

Høiby has already admitted to having problems with substance abuse. After admitting that he had committed violence against his ex-girlfriend, he said through his lawyer: “I have struggled with substance abuse for a long time and have sought treatment for it in the past. I will now resume this treatment and I will very much take seriously.”
