“Murder Sisters” star Lena Dörrie: “Sometimes humor shines through”

The “Ladykracher” ensemble won comedy awards, while Lena Dörrie shows herself more seriously in “Murder Sisters”. This is how her friends describe her.

Replenishment for the popular ZDF crime series “Murder Sisters – Crime is a Family Matter” (since 2022) is coming: Four new episodes about a particularly charming team of investigators will be broadcast on ZDF every Friday from October 18th at 8:15 p.m. It starts with the episode “Explosive”.

“Very good atmosphere on set”

The focus is on the two sisters, Chief Detective Viktoria Lorentzen (Lena Dörrie, 42) and forensic scientist Felicitas “Feli” Lorentzen (Caroline Hanke, 44). Both have other close professional confidants at their side: Inspector Sami Farhadi (Tamer Tıraşoğlu, 41) and forensic scientist Dariusz “Dusi” Kowalski (Claudiu Mark Draghici, 38).

The actress reports that there is also wonderful harmony behind the scenes on the Flensburg set. “The atmosphere is really very good, both in front of and behind the camera. So many people that the viewers and followers don’t even see are involved in the making of our films. Everyone gives their best every day,” she confirms in an interview with spot on news.

Lena Dörrie and Doris Dörrie – are there family ties?

Dörrie, who doesn’t have a sister in real life but does have an older brother, believes that she “got closer” to him through these films. “And I realized how much of our character depends on our positions in our nuclear families.”

When it comes to family, you quickly come to her last name. She shares it with star director and best-selling author Doris Dörrie (69). “I have to say, I’m actually always happy when I’m asked about it. I think there’s a large number of unreported people who simply assume that the director and author Doris Dörrie and I are at least closely related,” says Lena Dörrie and immediately resolves: “That’s actually not the case.” But of course the two have already crossed paths. “We met many years ago at one of her readings, which was very nice,” remembers the actress.

Lena Dörrie became known as a member of the “Ladykracher” ensemble

Some of the awards that Lena Dörrie has already received are comedy awards for funny roles in the “Ladykracher” ensemble (2008-2013). Her role in The Murder Sisters is rather serious, sensible, thoughtful and very responsible. Dörrie says which side of the actress’s private life predominates:

“Viktoria is serious, but sometimes she also shows a sense of humor that you wouldn’t expect from her. I think that’s nice, because humor is very important to me, especially laughing at myself. My friends would think of me as Lena I describe myself as an honest, emotional, somewhat chaotic and, as I said, hopefully funny person.” Viktoria is a part of her, “but I am very different from her in many ways,” she summarizes.
