The government of the province of Buenos Aires and the unions agreed this Thursday an 8% salary increase for state workers, which will be paid in two tranches.
The signing took place at a meeting held at the Buenos Aires Ministry of Labor, in La Plata, between representatives of Axel Kicillof’s administration and representatives of the Association of State Workers (ATE) and of the Union of Civil Personnel of the Nation (UPCN).
Joint: Province and state agreed on new increase
There, the parties agreed to an 8% salary increase in two tranches: 4% in October and 4% in November, based on the month of June.
Representing ATE Buenos Aires was the general secretary, Claudio Arévalo, the deputy general secretary, Eliana Aguirre, and the secretary of collective labor agreements, Martin Fontela.

In this regard, Arévalo pointed out “We value the political will and these instances of collective business that we have been having throughout this year.”
From the union they highlighted that, in order to improve the quality of the salary, the 4% bonus and the salary guarantee will be transferred to the basic one, which represents an increase over the October base of 6%.
On the other hand, it was agreed that family allowances in section I would increase by 8% and those in section II, III and IV would increase by 26%. In addition, for education assistants the sectoral bonus “rem. Adm. March 2022” will go from 95% to 100%.
Offer to teaching unions
In parallel, as usually happens, the Province made the same offer to the Buenos Aires Teaching Unit Front (FUDB). Unlike the state ones, there has not yet been an agreement, since the representatives of education workers will submit the proposal to the grassroots vote.
Through a statement, the FUDB reported that dAfter the meeting on October 9, in which they presented their requirements, the Provincial Government made a bimonthly salary offer of 8%, with an increase of 4% for the month of October and 4% for the month of November, based on calculation the month of June.
“Brings the salary of the initial grade Teacher to October $531,749 – November $553,076; the initial full-time degree teacher in October $1,063,498 – November $1,106,152; that of the Professor with 20 modules as of October $713,010 – November $736,517; with a monitoring clause in the first fortnight of November and reopening of joint ventures in the first fortnight of December”, they pointed out.
At the same time, they indicated that the provincial management “responded favorably to the request of the EITHERorganizations Yesindicative of equating the basic PR of Agrarian Education, Resident PR, Technical to extended-day PR”.
“The Front once again proposed that, from now on, the basis of equal calculation be the previous month’s salary. Given this, the provincial Executive received the proposal for evaluation,” the text concludes.
