Three institutions will have a double day and two-year rooms will be added in five establishments. The municipal education system of San Isidro will thus provide a free and quality response to more families.
The incorporation of the full day in Kindergartens, which will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In an event held today at Kindergarten No. 5 in Martínez, the mayor of San Isidro, Ramón Lanús, announced the readjustment of the municipal educational system of the Initial Level: the incorporation for the 2025 school year of the double day in three kindergartens, and the opening of two rooms in five institutions. In total, the measure will benefit 452 children and their families.

The municipal Kindergartens No. 5 (Martínez), No. 10 (Beccar) and No. 11 (Martínez) will become full-day starting next year. In the first two, the 2-year-old room will also be opened, also full-time. Likewise, in gardens N°2 (Boulogne), N°6 (Beccar) and N°12° (Villa Adelina) they will have two-year rooms with single days.
“This decision allows us to bring the educational proposal of our municipal gardens closer to what you and your children need,” said the mayor at the meeting held in Martinez together with families, students, teaching staff and municipal authorities.
“Reality demands an enormous responsibility from us as rulers and educators: today in Argentina, 63% of children live in poverty, and 60% do not understand the texts they read. Investing in Early Childhood Education is the best we can make; It is essential to reverse these figures that hurt us so much and so that our children can get ahead and have a future,” concluded Lanus.
The incorporation of the full day in the Kindergartens, which will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., is a response to the active listening by the municipal authorities to the families and the surveys that the municipality carried out in the community , where more than 63% stated that full-time work at the initial level would be extremely necessary. In addition, this diagnosis also revealed that many families did not opt for the municipal educational system in the current school year because they did not have a full-time or 2-year room in any of their institutions, which makes family organization difficult.
“So far this year we have carried out a close diagnosis of all municipal institutions, we work with the management, teaching, school guidance and auxiliary teams, we dialogue with families and educational communities, we carry out training. The decisions made at the initial level go hand in hand with our priority and inalienable commitment to education,” said Mercedes Sanguineti, Secretary of Education, Culture and Labor of San Isidro.
In all municipal kindergartens, the educational proposal includes English, music, computational thinking and robotics and the teaching of initial literacy, through the “Little Readers, Great Futures” program. In addition, all kindergartens have multidisciplinary School Guidance Teams that strengthen the students’ trajectories.
