Fahri Yardim talks about his argument with Til Schweiger

In a podcast interview, Fahri Yardim commented on Til Schweiger’s allegations that he had let him down. He shows a lot of understanding for his film colleague.

Til Schweiger and Fahri Yardim not only played a good team on the TV screens in “Tatort”, they were also a good team behind the scenes of the television world for a while. But recently Schweiger appeared disappointed in his colleague.

Fahri Yardim: Til Schweiger and he had a “sisterly” relationship

“What moved me was that Fahri didn’t get in touch. And I took Fahri with me everywhere. Fahri always said: ‘Yes, I tell everyone, including my whole family, they all love you because without I would still play greengrocer and all that. I have so much to thank you for.’ And then suddenly he was gone. He didn’t get in touch,” Schweiger revealed in the “Hotel Matze” podcast.

Yardim has now spoken out about the accusation that he had abandoned his friend. In the N-Joy podcast “Deutschland3000 – a good hour with Eva Schulz” he explains that he and Schweiger are currently experiencing a “crisis mood”, although they had a “sisterly” relationship. “He also made it public that he was disappointed that I didn’t get in touch when he was feeling so bad and before that,” said Yardim. “I would really like to clarify this with him myself,” he says. His stories convey a lot of appreciation for the filmmaker.

“For me it is also a happy encounter in a world that also needs luck, and we have something in common on an emotional level,” says Yardim. “The way he loved his actors has never happened again. In a childlike way, which often blows up in his face,” he explains. He was also impressed by the passion with which Schweiger makes his films. He sometimes presented him with scenes in the editing room with tears in his eyes – out of excitement.

But on the other hand, there were “dynamics” that led to “alienation,” said Yardim. Breaking off contact was still difficult. “It hurts,” says the actor.

He fully intends to contact his former friend and colleague to bury the hatchet.
