The episode is part of the escalation of criticism and challenges that has been taking place since the author of the Harry Potter saga generated a strong controversy in 2020 after satirizing an article entitled “Creating a more egalitarian post-Covid-19 world for people who menstruate ” when she tweeted: “I’m sure there used to be a word for those people.
