In his own words, Konstantin Wecker owes the fact that he became a feminist to great women.
Musician and songwriter Konstantin Wecker was, in his own words, “a pretty stupid macho guy” as a young man. “Luckily, my poetry was always much smarter than me. I was later lucky enough to meet great women, like Petra Kelly or Margarethe von Trotta, who influenced me,” said the 77-year-old in an interview with the “Rheinische Post” . “It took a few decades, but I became an avowed feminist. It was a process – my generation was a real macho generation.”
Men of his generation from show business who mourn the old days would “actually feel sorry for him”. “They are missing out on a cognitive process that would be good for them,” said Wecker. “It’s not like we lose anything by discovering and embracing our femininity as men. We just win.” The 77-year-old is currently on tour in Germany with his concert series “The Soundtrack of My Life”.
