Former “Pussycat Dolls” singer Kaya Jones believes the abuse trials against rapper “Diddy” will cause more heads to roll.
Kaya Jones (40), a member of the burlesque pop band “The Pussycat Dolls” between 2003 and 2004, has been harshly criticizing the music industry since 2017. As part of the Weinstein scandal that emerged at the time, the singer claimed that she and her colleagues had been financially exploited and also massively sexually abused. The “Pussycat Dolls” were less of a girl band and more of a real “prostitution ring”.
Will more powerful “suit wearers” fall?
With a view to the abuse trials against rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs (54), which have been ongoing since the end of 2023, Jones has now commented on the topic again. In it, she expressed her belief that the scandal surrounding the music mogul would also bring down other powerful “suit men” in the industry who had sexually abused her and other artists.
In the conversation she said, among other things: “This goes way beyond Puff Daddy. And I think the P. Diddy thing has disturbed so many people that they’re like, ‘Whoa!’ But it’s not just about him. Something is terribly wrong in our industry because we have allowed this behavior to continue to grow.” Abuse is widespread in the entertainment industry and comes in many different forms.
She very much hopes that “some people” around Sean Combs, who is now incarcerated, will “overturn” under the pressure of the allegations against him and that more names and cases of abuse will come to light.
