“Celebrity Big Brother”: That’s why Max Kruse thinks the engagement is unfair

Max Kruse left the “PBB” container in sixth place. In the interview he talks about his preparation and the biggest challenge.

Max Kruse (36) narrowly missed the “Celebrity Big Brother” final. In sixth place, the former national player left big brother’s surveillance on Sunday. He made it just as far as his wife Dilara did the previous year. In an interview with the news agency spot on news, he tells us what tips he got from her before moving into the container and what the biggest challenge was for him.

She caught it shortly before the finale of “Celebrity Big Brother”. Are you disappointed to have missed out on the top five?

Max Kruse: When you take part in a competition, you want to get as far as possible. The furthest possible route would have been to the final. That’s why it’s a shame, of course, but it’s not the end of the world. Whether I come sixth or second doesn’t matter. What matters to me is how I arrived out there and how the audience sees me. And so far I have only received positive feedback. That’s why I’m overjoyed that people liked me so much on my first TV show.

As you mentioned, you had many fans among the spectators and you were also popular with the residents. Did your exit surprise you?

Kruse: Yes, of course. When you are in the final six, you always have to expect that it can happen, because the opponents, the roommates, are of course getting stronger – also with regard to their communities. Everyone in the container sold well. But of course, it was a strange situation for me yesterday. That’s why it’s a shame, but I wish each of the remaining participants a victory and I’m looking forward to the final.

Before the show started, you said that the cell phone ban would be the biggest challenge. Was that really it or what was the hardest thing for you?

Kruse: Especially in the beginning it was the cell phone. Sometimes you reached into your pocket because you wanted to take out your cell phone. It was an unusual situation, but over time the lack of a cell phone was no longer the biggest problem. Towards the end of the last four or five days, the lack of sleep has caused the body to take a toll. The body can absorb it well for a certain period of time and I’m not someone who sleeps for nine hours every day. But at some point the body says: “It’s over now” and you notice it. The sleep deprivation was what consumed me the most.

You also revealed that your wife, as a former “PBB” participant, gave you tips. What were they and did they help you?

Kruse: I didn’t get that many tips. I talked to my wife beforehand about general things in the container: what can happen, what you have to pay attention to. But I didn’t want to know too much because I like to have my own experience. I am a person who likes to see what is coming without prior knowledge and then try to deal with the situation. I also did that in the container. Of course I asked how long you sleep approximately and how everything works. My wife told me about the lounge that you sit there for two or three hours with music playing. If you know this beforehand, you can deal with it better. But because I can handle any situation well, I didn’t need to prepare much.

You often created a good atmosphere in the container. Did you find it easy to always stay in good spirits?

Kruse: Yes, of course it was easy for me. I took on the project because you have to be in a room with 13 different people for 14 days, but it’s about being yourself and not pretending. This is my great strength. I have no reason to pretend. I have no reason to keep secrets. I am a very open and honest person who says what he thinks. That hasn’t changed in the container and it won’t change. I didn’t play tactical games to take advantage, I just remained myself. I got along very well with almost everyone and it was a great experience for me.

As you said on the Late Night Show, you found the timing of Mike Heiter’s marriage proposal “not quite optimal.” Why?

Kruse: I said I didn’t think the timing of the application was ideal. I didn’t say it was Mike’s idea. I don’t know if Mike planned this in advance or if he was given the chance and took it. I don’t think it’s fair to all the other participants to do something like that the day before the final. It triggers a wave in the media, so many people then say: “Oh, there was a marriage proposal today, they’re newly engaged. Maybe I’ll call on their behalf.”

Do you think the two have a future together?

Kruse: That’s also difficult for me to judge. I got to know her in the container for two weeks. Both are very likeable, I got along well with both of them straight away. I also had the feeling that this love was honest. Whether it is true love or not will become clear over the next few weeks or months, but that is not my construction site. It’s a matter between the two of them. If that’s the case, I think it’s great, and if it’s not, you can’t change it.

Together with three others, the two still have a chance of winning. Who do you think deserves it most and who will really win?

Kruse: Everyone deserves it most. All of the five who are still there are rightly there. It’s going to be a very close race tonight. If I had the opportunity to send someone to the final early yesterday, I would have chosen Alida because I got along very well with her. I would be happy if she wins. At the same time, I can imagine that Jochen has a strong community after the last few days and that he has a say in the race for first place. But my absolute favorite is still Leyla. I believe she will win.

Do you plan to stay in touch with anyone from the container?

Kruse: I can certainly imagine staying in touch with one or two of them and even meeting them from time to time. But first I would like to watch the whole show at home in peace to get an idea. Also about what was said in the consulting room.

Could you imagine more reality shows? What would appeal to you?

Kruse: It always depends on whether I have time and how long it takes. I can imagine taking part in TV formats again, but everything has to fit. I definitely won’t jump into the next show at any cost.
