The Minister of Deregulation and Transformation of the State, Federico Sturzenegger, provided details of the modifications that will soon apply to the traffic code, mainly in the renewal of driver’s licenses.
In this context, he announced that in a few weeks a very comprehensive reform of the traffic code will come outwhich is going to have very significant news on how to renew licenses.
“We are already in the process of a very comprehensive reform of the traffic code. That there will be very significant news about what the license renewal. Driver’s license renewal “It will not require going in person”indicated the minister.

Precisely, regarding the adhesion of the provinces to this new measure, the minister added that “they have to adhere, because they are municipal procedures. Many times, municipalities use this as a collection mechanism, for this reason, in the law we are going to change the system so that it can be much more agile.

“In reality, this mechanism, starting at age 65, changes. From that age, people are obliged to carry out the procedure in person. It has to be more frequent for reasons of age, for safety,” he remarked.
On the other hand, news and confirmations are expected regarding the Vehicle Technical Verification (VTV), taking into account the latest information that arrived about the procedure in CABA, since as of November certain groups of citizens are exempt from paying the VTV. These include:
- Retirees and pensioners over 65 years of age who own a vehicle and earn up to 2 minimum retirement benefits.
- People with disabilities who own a vehicle.
- People with disabilities who are not owners of the vehicle, such as parents, descendants, guardians or spouses.
