“4 Blocks” star: Kida Khodr Ramadan: I don’t have celebrity status in prison

Kida Khodr Ramadan often drove cars without a license. As a result, he is now serving a prison sentence. Going into prison was especially hard, says the actor, who is currently on long-term leave.

For actor and director Kida Khodr Ramadan, his prominence in prison is no advantage. “There is no celebrity status,” Ramadan told the news magazine “stern”. “You’re just like everyone else. It’s not like they all celebrated me there.”

The start of prison was particularly difficult. “It was a very difficult situation at the beginning because I wasn’t immediately in open prison,” said Ramadan. “I said to myself: You’ve made a mistake, you have to spend some time in here and use this to think about how you can avoid making mistakes like that again in the future.”

Long-term exit for the presentation of his new film

Ramadan is currently serving a prison sentence because he drove many times without a license. The 48-year-old has been in prison in Berlin since the beginning of August. Ramadan has been granted a long-term exit for the presentation of his new film “Haltlos”. The “4 Blocks” star has already promoted his film in North Rhine-Westphalia, Hamburg and Berlin in the past few days.

Ramadan also attributes his situation to his ADHD. He was diagnosed with a very severe form and is now taking medication. “You constantly do impulsive actions and don’t think about the consequences. Only when the child has fallen into the well do you think: Fuck!”
