Argentine police officers have recovered possible evidence from the hotel where Liam Payne died.
Around a week after the death of Liam Payne (1993-2024), Argentine police searched the hotel in Buenos Aires where the former One Direction star died after falling from a balcony. On the instructions of the responsible public prosecutor’s office, a special unit seized computer hard drives and camera recordings. It is hoped that the material will provide clues as to how the tragedy could have occurred and whether foul play could have led to it.
According to the current state of the investigation, everything indicates that Payne was alone in his hotel room at the time of the incident and may have suffered a “collapse.” During an initial search of the room, several substances and various broken objects were found. According to consistent media reports, an initial toxicological report from the beginning of the week showed that Payne had drugs in his blood at the time of death.
Family awaits release of body
Liam Payne fell to his death from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room on October 16th. Due to the serious injuries sustained, the paramedics who were called could only determine that the star was dead. He had previously spent several weeks in Argentina with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, but she had flown back to the USA shortly before the tragedy.
Payne’s father, Geoff Payne, is currently in Buenos Aires to arrange for the body to be transported to the family’s British homeland. According to “The Guardian”, it can be assumed that this will take place by the end of the month at the latest.
