All One Direction albums are back in the UK charts following the tragic death of Liam Payne. There are also reentries in Germany.
All five studio albums by British boy band One Direction (2010-2015) have been canceled following the death of former member Liam Payne (1993-2024). In Germany, three albums and a single are celebrating this success with a bitter aftertaste.
The British singer died on October 16 at the age of 31 after falling from the third floor of a balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Five albums and two songs in the UK charts
The band’s 2013 album ‘Midnight Memories’, which includes hits such as ‘Best Song Ever’ and ‘Story Of My Life’, returns to number 13 on the UK album charts, while their last album ‘Made In The AM’ (2015) charted at number 21 according to the Official Charts Company. The band’s 2014 album “Four” is at number 22. “Take Me Home” (2012) is at number 25 and their debut album “Up All Night” (2011) is at number 38.
In addition, two One Direction songs have returned to the top 10: “Night Changes” (2014) reached a new high in the singles charts at number six and “Story Of My Life” (2013) entered the charts at number nine.
And there is also movement on Liam Payne’s 2019 solo album “LP1”. The record returned to the top 100 of the UK album charts at number 62.
Three albums and one single in the German charts
In Germany, too, the former cult band’s songs and albums are in increasing demand again following the death announcement. The One Direction album “Midnight Memories” is celebrating a re-entry, as a reentry (REE) it can be found at number 56 in the German album charts. “Four” returns at number 70 and “Made In The AM” at number 94.
