The Argentine pilot Franco Colapinto showed his annoyance with the performance of his Williams in the first round of qualifying Mexican Grand Prix of Formula 1 but he also had self-criticism and assured that “it was a disaster.”

Colapinto was barely able to do one lap at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez and it was not enough for him to do a second (his team called him to the pits with more than two minutes left and kept him there) so he finished in 16th place and was eliminated for Q2.
Colapinto recorded a time of 1:17.558 and was 151 thousandths away from making the cut.
This is the second consecutive time that the Argentine, who races with the Williams team, has not been able to overcome the first qualifying round.
